The Maker Behind Inspiring Creations
I’ve always been the kind of person who saves an odd button, the last bit of ribbon, or a piece of fabric because I’m convinced it might be useful later. Thank you, Mom.
My grandmother taught me to sew, and I grew up around people who were much more likely to make something than replace it. Later, I took local art and textile classes mostly because I was curious and wanted to understand what else I could do with my hands.
When Sienna, Nolan, and I started Inspiring Creations Blog, all those years of making things, keeping notes, and figuring out what instructions had left out gave me plenty to bring to the DIY & Crafts side.
I wanted that side of the site to feel like the kind of place I would have found useful when I was figuring things out myself: practical, encouraging, and honest about the fact that projects do not always go neatly from step one to done.
That still shapes the way I write. If I’m trying something new, I’ll probably spend as much time figuring out why it went wrong as I do following the instructions. I don’t have much patience for guides that make everything sound effortless, because sometimes the useful part is knowing what to do when it isn’t.
I also tend to prefer projects that do not require buying half a craft store first. If something can be made with what is already tucked away in a drawer, even better.
My craft table is almost never clean, but I’ve made my peace with it. There is usually one unfinished project nearby and something else I’m convinced will be useful eventually.
Outside of crafts, I’m happiest when life is a little slower. I like old bookstores and quiet weekends, although I’m also guilty of noticing reusable packaging before I notice what came inside it.
More than anything, I hope what I share here makes you feel comfortable trying something before you’re completely sure how it will turn out. That is usually where the interesting part starts anyway.
