"XOXO" Rag Garland

I said I was going to make one of these and I finally got it done! I got my inspiration from here.
I LOVE how it turned out and it was so simple to make.

This garland is so easy to make!
The base of the garland is a large piece of ribbon about 2 inches wide. To make the garland all you need is some fabric to make the garland itself. Rip your fabric into strips and then cut the strips to be about 5-6 inches long. Then just tie each piece of fabric onto your ribbon base until you like the look of it. I made mine really full because I had a lot of fabric scraps.

To make the "XO's" and the hearts, I bought some wood letters and hearts from my local craft store that cost about .75 cents and my husband drilled a small hole in the corner of each letter and heart so that I could tie a ribbon to hang them. To decorate the letters, just use some mod podge to apply some scrapbook paper to the letters and embellish with buttons and ribbon! To finish just hang your letters and hearts with some ribbon and your done! So easy!

That is so totally cute! I am going to have to make this for each holiday because it looks easy and FUN to make! So about how much fabric would you say that you used for this? I have a BAD habit about buying up the store when doing a project because I don't want to go back!

For this project I used about 5 different kinds of fabric and I used about 1/4 of a yard of each fabric. My garland is almost 4 feet long. I also used some extra ribbons i had lying around as well. So it's a perfect project for all of those scraps! And, I agree about making one for each holiday! I think I am going to! :)If you make one let me know how it turns out!

This is by far the most darling Valentine's banner I have seen. How many different types of fabric did you use and do you have any idea how many yards you used?

Where do you get your ribbon? I keep coming across these great garland tutorials but have no clue where you awesome crafters get the ribbon you use or even the best kind of ribbon to use for garland projects.
