Little Birdie Boxes

Hannah's room is slowly coming together. It would probably be done a lot faster if I had more energy. I am nearing the end of this pregnancy and I can honestly say that I am exhausted! I have only been able to craft in spurts. Luckily, I had a crafting spurt last night and got something done for Hannah's room.

I have decided to name these cute little boxes because I think they are so darn cute! :)
They are my little birdie boxes. If you are new to my blog you will have realized I have a new found fascination with birds. This may or may not be a good thing...I haven't decided yet. :)

These little boxes didn't take much time at all. I would say about an hour to complete all three of them. It would be faster if you didn't have to wait for paint to dry! I HATE waiting for paint to dry.

Tutorial:

Supplies Needed
3 stackable paper mache boxes
3 coordinating paint colors
Scrapbook paper
Ribbon
Hot Glue
Sandpaper
Mod Podge

Step 1: Paint your box.

Step 2: Distress your box. To do this I got some antique white paint and then dry brushed it on very lightly and then sanded it off.
Step 3: Cut out a strip of scrapbook paper and mod podge it on your box.
Step 4: Hot glue your ribbon onto your box
Step 5: make a bow and hot glue it onto the front of your box.

These look perfect in her room and I can't decided where to put them. They are on her dresser right now, but that was for picture taking purposes only. Hannah cannot be trusted with something like this in her reach. They would be destroyed within a day! I am thinking on a shelf or something.....we'll have to see.

Girly Magnet Board

I have been working on a magnet board for Hannah that is going to be her chore chart. I am still working on the chore chart part of it as you can see because I haven't quite figured out how I want to do that yet so if any of you have any suggestions that would be wonderful! I first painted it pink to match her room then I embellished it by making flowers out of lots and lots of buttons......(i am sick of buttons) I then decorated a big letter H with some paper and more buttons and ribbon. To make the part where it hangs I just got a big piece of thick ribbon and then cut out a bunch of smaller pieces of ribbon and tied each small piece on the big piece of ribbon.
I took this picture with the metal part taken out because I couldn't get a good picture with the metal in. The picture below is what it looks like with the metal in.
