As you know we are poor college students, and don’t really have the funds to buy expensive gifts for Mother’s Day.

So I was trying to come up with an inexpensive, yet cute way that my mom and mother-in-law could hang up all their pictures of all their grandchildren, and this is what I came up with.

It was super easy to make, and the supplies were really inexpensive.

I made one with green lettering and the other one with brown lettering.  I actually like the brown lettering better, but I didn’t get a picture of the finished product!

So this is the one I gave my mom.

Tutorial:

Supplies:

1 Wood Board

Paint

Vinyl lettering

Jute

Distressing Ink

Mini Clothespins

Step 1: Paint your board.  I bought my board at my local craft store. When your paint is dry, use distressing ink on the edges of the board.

Step 2: Drill two holes in the two sides of the board so that you can string your jute through

3. Apply your vinyl lettering

4. String your jute through both holes and tie in the back.

5. Hot glue jute around the board.

Step 6. Hang your pictures (I used wallet sized pics, but if you made a larger board you could use bigger pics)

Super easy to make and a great way to brag about your kids or grandchildren!

You could also make a larger version and hang up your kid’s artwork from school or bigger pictures.

Linking up the these parties!
