Food For Thought Tuesday: Cream Cheese Frosting

I made some yummy cupcakes for the Super Bowl and I frosted them with green (packers fans) cream cheese frosting. My hubby is not a fan of regular buttercream frosting, and so I always frost my cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

I don't usually measure my ingredients when making any kind of frosting, I usually just throw it in a bowl and mix it until it's the conisitancy I like. However, yesterday I measured all of my ingredients so I could share it with you.

Cream Cheese Frosting

8 0z softened cream cheese
1 stick of butter
4 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract

Cream butter and cream cheese until smooth and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Keep refrigerated.

Cool cupcakes! How do you get that smooth swirly thingy going? Thats exactly what I want my valentines cupcakes to look like!

I was wondering the same thing as Pastiche! How did you get the frosting swirled up like that?
